Many Plantar Fasciitis sufferers will describe the pain being especially acute first thing in the morning. This happens because during the night the plantar fascia has rested and tightened and started to heal and with the first step out of bed we place all our body weight on our feet and can pull at the plantar fascia re injuring it.

Pain usually decreases as the tissue warms up, but may easily return again after long periods of standing or weight bearing, physical activity, or after getting up after long periods of sitting.

HOW CAN YOU TREAT IT?

There are several different ways to relieve the pain of Plantar Fascia. One way to help reduce the pain felt in the morning is to wear a “Night Splint.” The splint holds the foot with the toes pointed up. This positioning applies a constant, gentle stretch to the plantar.
